What to bring on the day...

Water bottle (or have a 'Camelbak' style backpack), snacks for breaks and a packed lunch. Clothes that can get dirty, approved helmet, a bike that can go off road in good mechanical order. Your child must be able to carry water during riding - it is strongly advisable for your child’s bike to be fitted with a bottle cage to the 'lower' tube NOT mounted to the handlebars.

This program involves riding on mountain bike trails that often involve uphill sections. Some riders may find the hills challenging for their fitness. It is important that children ride their bikes in the lead up to this program to build their fitness.

Bike will need a bottle cage fitted to the ‘lower’ tube (not mounted to the handlebars). Bikes must be in good mechanical order. An approved helmet is required (gloves recommended).

Parents need to remain contactable throughout the program. You may be required to collect your child:

• If their bike fails and can’t be quickly fixed

• If they fall off and is not able to continue

• is not behaving or will not listen to the coach

• isn’t comfortable riding their bike on the designated trails

• isn’t able to keep up with the group
